Examine the biblical story of Mary and Martha, exploring the balance between being creative and spending time with God.

Our Focus verse was

Luke 10:41-42 – “Martha, Martha…you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Lesson: Kids will learn the importance of prioritizing their relationship with God over other activities and understand that creativity should be grounded in a heart of devotion to Him.

I was out this week in Texas with my Family Night event for another church. So, I had one of my leaders run the lesson and evening. I outlined everything for her and built it out in Keynote like I do each week. I saved it on an SD card so she could run it from there on her Mac.

Again, the teaching this week is simple but solid. This summer’s theme has been keeping with my goal that the kids “are doing, not just viewing.”
