Kneemail August 2023 – Witnessing His Wonder

Ever wonder about Wonder? I love that word. I love Sharing His Wonder with fellow believers and not-yet-believers alike. A simple sleight-of-hand trick can create Wonder, sure. But when we look closely at God’s word, we understand better the sanctity that consumes His Wonder.

The concept of Wonder is deeply ingrained in the Bible, with numerous stories and passages highlighting the awe-inspiring power of God. From the creation story in Genesis to the miraculous events in the New Testament, Wonder is a central theme
that encourages believers to recognize and appreciate the majesty of God.

One of the Bible’s most famous examples of Wonder is the story of Moses and the burning bush. When Moses approached the bush, he was amazed to see that it was aflame but not being consumed. This miraculous event left Moses in awe and inspired him to take on the task of leading the Israelites out of Egypt.

Another powerful example of Wonder in the Bible is the story of Jesus calming the storm. When the disciples found themselves amid a dangerous storm on the Sea of Galilee, Jesus simply commanded the winds and waves to be still, and they obeyed.
This extraordinary event amazed the disciples and filled them with awe & Wonder at the power of their Lord.

Throughout the Bible, Wonder is a reminder of God’s omnipotence and sovereignty. By recognizing and appreciating the wonders of God, we can deepen our faith and draw closer to our Creator. The psalmist writes,

“He has made his wonders to be remembered;
the Lord is gracious and compassionate”

(Psalm 111:4).

Ultimately, the concept of Wonder in the Bible encourages believers to approach God with humility, reverence, and awe! By acknowledging the majesty and power of God, we can find peace and comfort in the knowledge that we are in the hands of a loving and all-knowing Creator. So let us all take a moment to marvel at the wonders of God and give thanks for the blessings He has bestowed upon us.
