Kneemail November 2023-Embracing Gratitude
Hello, Praying Friend!
Wow. Did October fly by for you? It certainly did here. As we move into November and are cognizant of the chaos around us, locally, regionally, and globally, it should give us pause to be thankful. Yes. Even amid the turmoil. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 reminds us,
“Give Thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
We’re reminded over and over again in the scriptures to be…thankful!
Having an attitude of gratitude has been shown to increase happiness, reduce stress, and improve overall well-being. When we intentionally focus on the good in our lives, it shifts our perspective from what we lack to what we have, and this can have a profound effect on our mental, spiritual, and emotional state!
Studies have shown that people who regularly practice gratitude experience less depression and anxiety and have better-coping mechanisms when faced with difficult situations. Expressing gratitude can improve our relationships with others as it fosters a sense of connection and empathy. No wonder His word tells us we should give thanks to the Lord, for He is GOOD!
So, as we move through November, take a moment to reflect on the good in our lives and make an intentional effort to practice gratitude. To help us kick-start this, I’ve enclosed a small card (you can also download the card here). Fill in and place on your bathroom mirror to remind yourself daily to be filled with Thanksgiving.
We’ve also created an 8-page activity book for children to encourage them to be thankful. This is available for you or a children’s leader you know to download print and give away completely free. Here’s the link to the book. Speaking of Thankful, I am so grateful for you! Your continued friendship, prayer, and support of this small but mighty ministry is a blessing to my heart! (If you haven’t supported this work financially, consider this your personal invitation from me; every dollar donated 100% goes back into this work. Our mission is clear: Empowering churches and communities through uniquely engaging events and resources proclaiming the importance of a life in Christ! You can help us continue and thrive as we prepare for our 43rd year of ministry. Here’s the link to learn more and support this work.)
