Giving Thanks!

We have just been through the HALLOWEEN season and are coming to THANKSGIVING. Halloween, without question, has its origins in pagan worship and rituals. Today it has no more significance in the minds of most people than to be an excuse to “party” … or an opportunity to put on a mask and fantasize becoming someone different from who you are.

However many are involved in witchcraft or Satanic worship who continue to use this as a high holy day…or more correctly, a “low, unholy night.” They believe that on this night those ungodly spirits move about in a special and more effective way.

However, we need to realize that Satan does not need a “Halloween” to move about aggressively. “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” (I Peter 5:8 – The New King James Version – or NKJV)

Satan and his demons are extremely active at ALL times. He knows how to deceive us! Halloween should make us even more mindful that there is tremendous warfare going on all around us in that spiritual dimension. We should also know that “…God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” (II Timothy 1:7 – NKJV) Because “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He (the Holy Spirit) who is in you is greater than he (Satan) who is in the world. (I John 4:4 – NKJV)

With this realization, THANKSGIVING takes on, even more, significance. The greatest thing for which the child of God has to be thankful is the fact that our spiritual battles are ALREADY WON! [bctt tweet=”All we have to do is claim, by faith, the victory that Christ has already won for us.” username=”scotthumston”] I’m thankful that Jesus put me on the winning side!

By the way, if you do not understand how to claim that victory which is already available to you, drop me a note and request a little booklet that will explain it for you. This is the booklet that God has used to help thousands to begin to understand this great life-changing truth.

Join me this year in making this a special season of Thanksgiving. Thankful for our positive victory in Christ, thankful for our spiritual leaders (such as your Pastor … have you told him lately that you appreciate him?), thankful for our families, our health, our friends, our free America, our employment, our ministry … the list never ends. When you stop to think about it, we have lots and lots of things to be thankful for.

As our THANKSGIVING verse this year, let us all claim; “Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — MEDITATE ON THESE THINGS.” (Philippians 4:8 – NKJV)

Sharing His Wonder,
