Faith Through Music

Goal

Kids will Discover the role of music as a creative form of worship and expression, exploring biblical references to music and its impact on faith.

Craftivity

Listening & Watching Drumming

Our Focus verse was

Psalm 100:2 – “Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.”

Lesson: Kids will learn to appreciate the connection between music and faith and explore ways to use their musical talents to honor God.

This week I had my son, Nate, a high school Junior and quite an accomplished drummer, talk about his drumming and demonstrate the power of rhythms. He used a paint bucker as the kids sat around him on the gym floor. It was a “drum circle” type of exercise, and The kids did even better than I expected during his time with them. He did a great job sharing a bit of his knowledge of drumming and its history.
We went from the gym to a restroom break, then back to the cafe for snacks and a lesson recap.
