3 Things To Remember About Faith

The Lord said, ” Whatever is not of faith is sin.” (Romans 14:23 NKJV)
There is no question that the “KEY” that unlocks the Supernatural is “FAITH.” God has always dealt with His people on the basis of faith. It was Abraham’s faith to obey the Lord’s directions that were counted unto him (Abraham) for righteousness as recorded in Romans 4:3. This passage specifically says that Abraham was NOT saved (justified) by his good works but rather by his faith. His works were an outward demonstration of the faith within his heart.

It is our faith (alone) in Christ as we ask Him to save us which is the key to God giving us eternal life. When we put our faith and trust in Christ alone for salvation, then the Lord saves us.

As Christians, it is our faith in God to forgive us our (specific) sins as we confess them to Him which permits God to do just that. (I John 1:9) It is not the faith that forgives the sins, it is God. HE forgives when we put that faith in Him.

It is as we put faith in Him that He fills us with His Holy Spirit for power in soul-winning, ministry, and daily life.

Since faith is so important to us in our relationship to God, we need to know a little about what it is. First, the object of our faith must be the Lord, not faith itself. Many have faith that they are going to heaven, but their confidence is not in Christ for salvation. Therefore their faith is useless. Many have faith that everything is going to work out alright in the circumstances of their life, yet their faith is not in the Lord for that, so consequently the faith is of no effect. Our faith must be in the Lord and His teachings and principle as given in the Bible. “Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” (Romans 10:17 NKJV) NOTE that this is not “blind” faith, it is faith based upon HIS promises!

Secondly, faith is real when it is strong enough for us to act on it. We are saved when we express our faith in Christ for salvation by asking Him to save us. The action of “acting on it” demonstrates our faith.

Thirdly, faith is the absence of doubt. If I say, “Lord, I ask you to fill me with your Spirit.” Then I say to myself, “Boy, I sure hope He is going to do it.” That is not faith; it is doubt. Faith means “I KNOW He is going to do it!” When we put that kind of 1-know-He-is-going-to-do-it faith in Him, that is what releases God to work in your life and circumstances
surrounding you.

Please be careful to understand that our faith MUST be WITHIN HIS WILL. We could have faith that we will sprout wings and fly, but that would not be according to His will. For example, healing faith must also be within His will. Paul, one of the great champions of faith, prayed that God would heal him … however, it was not God’s will to do so.

What areas the areas of your life in which God needs to work? Where do you need real miracles from the Lord for your life? Claim His Biblical promises, by faith, act on it and KNOW in your heart, if it is HIS will, He will do it!
